Abby Falmacher and Giles are worried about Danny Hiillcrest. Since learning that his movie will not be filmed in Chasm Valley, he just sits in the lobby of the Venus Arms Hotel, not caring about anything. But a phone call changes all that, setting in motion a whirlwind series of events!

Slowly, the good people of Middling Fair grew suspicious of the man going by the name “Blaine Hendrix.” Now, with Danny in plain sight, the stranger is about to accomplish his mission. What will this mean for Danny? And for any witnesses?

He heads back to the Venus Arms Hotel and Towers, where Danny resides. The stranger plans on demanding information that will put an end to the search.

Haartte goes in search of art.

Haartte wraps up the tale of his first case as a private detective in Middling Fair. He must locate a missing statue of Venus de Milo – while putting up with Danny Hillcrest. The mysterious stranger is hoping this story will give him some clues as to Danny’s whereabouts.
