We have some excellent Star Trek 2 news to report. Devin Faraci over at Badass Digest reports that Khan Noonien Singh won’t be the villain in the film and that the sequel “won’t be focused on a traditional ‘villain’ type at all.” To any fanboys that are upset that Khan won’t be making a return, I’ll just say: 1) The Wrath of Khan will always exist so just go watch that, and 2) new things aren’t inherently bad. I’ve already made my preferences known regarding Khan in the sequel so I’m glad that they’re not going to take a safe route that wouldn’t make any sense since these characters haven’t lived in the original series mythology that would create a Khan-situation anyway.
